It isn’t an understatement to say that we instantly fell in love with instant ramen. (Geddit, geddit?)
If you ever want to pay homage to our favourite convenience food, come on down to Slurping Good, the first instant-noodle themed experience playground in Singapore!
Brought to life by the minds who developed Eatbox and Artbox, Slurping Good has made its official debut amongst Singapore’s various food-themed museums. Take the opportunity to visit its noodly nooks and crannies as you venture through their elaborate exhibitions!
Stories & Co. visited the exhibition recently – let us give you a virtual tour of what to expect!
From the instant you set foot into the exhibition, you’ll be greeted by whimsical music playing through the speakers and the bright yellow interior. This sets the mood for the perfect instant noodle wonderland experience.
As you walk further in, you’ll find yourself in the very first installation – the instant noodle rainfall. In this instalment, dozens of ‘noodles’ are suspended from the ceiling. With mirrors surrounding the room, it gives the illusion that you’re stuck in an instant noodle maze, which makes for a fun start to the experience.
As you navigate through the instant noodle ‘maze’, you’ll come across the ingredients section. First up is the meat and eggs section. Here, you’ll find a variety of installations, ranging from pieces of bacon floating on the ceiling to quirky puns and infographics pasted on the walls. You’ll also find interactive installations such as a voting section, where you can use plastic eggs to cast your vote for your favourite type of egg, ranging from half boiled to omelettes. The interactive feature of this section definitely adds to the overall experience as you also get to interact with the installation.
In the next ingredient section, you’ll find the seafood and vegetable section. This section’s main highlight features an exquisite set design, with the walls painted to mimic the ocean and fishing nets and plastic crabs cast around the set. This section is certainly one of the most visually appealing parts of the exhibition and is definitely an Instagram-worthy spot.
As you venture past the ingredients section, you’ll find yourself at arguably the best part of the entire exhibition- the ‘playground’. Here, you can find a gigantic instant noodle swing the size of a table, and a huge slide suitable for all ages. This part definitely brings out the inner child inside all of us, especially with its unique and playful set design and layout.
However, the giant swing and slide are not even the best part. The real attraction here is really the life-sized cup noodle standing nearly 2 metres tall. The gigantic cup noodle which features an intricate design that truly mimics that of your regular Nissin cup noodles you can find in your convenience stores. On top of that, you can even become the ‘ingredient’ and stand inside the cup noodle to take pictures. This really takes the phrase “you are what you eat” quite literally.
After the playground, you’ll then find yourself at the end of the first floor. However, fret not, as there is still a second floor to explore.
On the upper level, you’ll find the merchandise store. You’ll find items ranging from instant noodle themed t-shirts to cup noodle plushies and even an instant noodle towel for your next visit to the beach. The variety of products will undoubtedly leave you spoiled for choice, and it’s almost certain that you’ll find the perfect memento for your visit.
At last, you’ll come to the final installation of the exhibition – the wall of instant noodles. With over 100 instant noodles pasted on a huge wall, it is truly something like you’ve never seen before. From spicy Samyang noodles to the wide selection of Nissin cup noodles, this wall is an instant noodle lover’s slice of heaven. On top of that, it provides a really sublime backdrop for your next Instagram post.
Now that you know what to expect from this marvellous new playground, here are our personal thoughts and feelings about this place.
Kaylene says…
With its instant-grammable (heh heh!) and bright-coloured exhibitions, the museum is a great place to visit for all ages. When I was visiting, there were various families paying a visit with their children, all wearing a wide grin on their faces as they interacted with the museum’s exhibitions. I highly recommend visiting Slurping Good with your friends and family if you ever need some time off during the upcoming holidays. With Eatbox conveniently stationed next to the exhibition itself, there’s a good amount of hangout options available in your itinerary… as well as some amazing photo-ops for your social media feeds!

Overall, the experience for me was an interesting one. Slurping Good certainly offers a unique experience for someone looking to try something new in Singapore. With Covid-19 still at large, our entertainment options are limited to local attractions, and so Slurping Good definitely makes the list of the top few unique places to visit for entertainment in Singapore.
Price-wise, the admission ticket cost of $21 may sound a little costly. However, given the intricate design of the exhibition and the unique opportunity to visit something as unorthodox as an instant noodle playground, I would say it is definitely worth it.
Ahkash says…
I was amused by the quality and variety of the museum. I never thought that something so ordinary could have so many installation options. The colours, props, music and overall vibes allow us to be immersed in the world of instant noodles ala Charlie and The Chocolate Factory. I would highly recommend Slurping Good as a fun excursion with your friends!
Slurping Good is located at Tekka Place Annex building next to Eatbox, with tickets priced at $21. The exhibition will be available from 25 September 2021 to 30 January 2022, so do pay a visit while it lasts!
