With so much time on our hands at home, many of us may get bored of the same old routines. Even though this circuit breaker is not a productivity contest, trying out something new could spice up your time. With more and more people using TikTok to pass time, different trends always seem to appear on user’s feeds. One of these trends include trying out simple, step-by-step recipes at home. Here are five recipes that you could try to satisfy your sweet or savoury tooth.
1. Dalgona Coffee
Ingredients that you will need:
- 1 Tbsp Hot Water
- 1 Tbsp Sugar
- 1 Tbsp instant coffee
- 1 cup of milk
Steps:
- Add the hot water, sugar and instant coffee into a bowl.
- Start whisking it until soft peaks are formed.
- Fill a glass with milk and top it off with the mixture that you made.
Having a mixer will come in handy and save you some time. However, it is also possible to whisk it by hand! Just be patient and your efforts will pay off. Make sure to take an Instagram story to show it off!
2. Fried Chocolate
Ingredients that you will need:
- Chocolate
- Bread
- An egg
- Breadcrumbs
Steps:
- Place a piece of chocolate on a piece of bread.
- Fold the bread in half and cut it out using a cutter.
- Dip it in an egg wash.
- Coat with breadcrumbs.
- Deep fry for 30 seconds on each side, and it is ready to serve.
This dessert can also be substituted with ice cream! Just make sure that you freeze the dessert for two hours before frying. Otherwise, the ice cream will melt and seep out of the bread. This dessert is best served hot.
3. Egg cheese sandwich
Ingredients:
- 2 eggs
- 2 slices bread
- 1 tbsp Butter
- 1 slice Cheese
Steps:
- Heat up a pan and spread the butter evenly.
- Pour in the eggs and spread them out evenly.
- Dip the bread before the eggs start to cook.
- After 1 minute, flip the bread and egg over.
- Add cheese and fold it into a sandwich.
A super delicious pan-snack which you could whip up within minutes. It may not look like a perfect sandwich every time, but it should always taste the same and of course, practice makes perfect!
4. Oreo cake
Ingredients:
- (4-5 pieces) Oreos
- Milk
Steps:
- Crush the oreos into small bits in a mug.
- Add the milk.
- Microwave for 90 seconds.
The oreo cake comes in as one of the tastiest, yet simplest and fastest recipes on this list. The amount of oreos and milk you use is ultimately up to you and your liking, so you can adjust the recipe to suit your taste buds!
5. Pizookie
Ingredients:
- ¼ cup Cup of unsalted butter,
- ¼ cup Brown sugar,
- ¼ cup Sugar,
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- A pinch of baking soda and salt,
- ¾ cup All-purpose flour
- Chocolate (chips or chunks of your choice)
Steps:
- Melt the butter and add both sugar in a bowl.
- Add the egg and stir well.
- Add in the flour, salt and baking soda and mix until combined. (Remember to sieve the flour!)
- Add in the chocolate chips and pour the batter in a pan.
- Bake for 20 minutes at 180 degrees and let cool before serving.
